The Corporate What?…

So I had a job interview today! First one I have had in a while for a real job that I actually applied for. It’s nice to feel at least a little wanted. 🙂 Hehehe.

I have always been pretty good at interviewing. I’m pretty good at coming up with random answers on the spot and pretty personable and all that. So while I think I did well in the interview today, The interviewer unintentionally set off an unknown bomb of philosophical life questions as I tweeted earlier. So bare with me as I attempt to explain the conundrum I find myself in. Gift Giving Guide

So it’s the holidays. We celebrate the gift of Jesus to the world and we do that by giving gifts to everyone we love / feel obligated to give a gift to. Gifts are a pretty important thing to how our society shows and receives love. It is even one of the 5 love languages. Getting a good gift actually ranks pretty high on my love language list. #2 of the 5.

But this blog was not inspired by convincing people to give me good commercials. It actually was inspired by a TV commercial. In said commercial, people and dogs are pulling large things out of small boxes and supposedly they are the most awesome gifts. This older black gentleman pull a wintery sweater out of the box and seems to like the sweater. On this I call SHANANIGANS!!!! Continue reading

Announcements and Peace

So unlike my normal way of doing things, there are some big announcements for the Headley family and I haven’t tweeted about most of it really. Or posted anything on Facebook. Haven’t even told a ton of people. Not that we have been keeping things a secret. It’s more that there has been a simple peace about it all so the need to shout everything from the rooftops hasn’t been there. So I am going to write said announcements here and with each will give some explanation of the peace about it. Continue reading

Concert Going

So I used to go to shows a ton. It was an integral part of my life for a long time. Whether I was playing at them or just going. I was regularly heading out and skipping out on curfew at Asbury for shows in Cincy, Louisville, Nashville… Wherever there was a show I wanted to see I was there. Drove to Cleveland and hit a dear with my dad’s van to see Weezer, Jimmy Eat World and Tenacious D. I even booked and promoted shows all through college.

Just recently I went with a friend of mine to see Queens of the Stoneage in Louisville. Great show, and one of the first I had gone to in a long time. And something started to stir up a little. Last night I was watching part of the Paramore concert from the iTunes festival and it hit me. Revelation.

September With A Bang!

So the first day of September was one of the more beautiful, interesting whirl wind days I have had in quite some time. I would like to share my days schedule with those of you interested in reading it.

7:30 am – I arrive at church to get ready for the mornings services. Christine Caine was already phenomenal Saturday night so I’m stoked for the next 2.
10:55ish am – watch probably 30 or so people stream to the front to give their lives to Christ.
1ish pm – probably another 60 people or more give their hearts to Jesus. Freaking amazing!!

Here is where the whirl wind begins

She Makes Me Better

So as I starts writing this, it’s 2:07 in the morning. I’m wide awake. I’m sitting in my bed by myself. Shalerie had to make an unexpected trip out to see her step mom who is in a losing battle with cancer and probably doesn’t have very much time left. She took Mika out with her, so I am all of a sudden left alone in the house for several days sans family.

God Be Praised

This is a track from Elevation Worship of their “For The Honor” record. When I first got the record, I skipped around it a lot. It took me forever to listen to this song. The intro always caught be off guard and I would only listen to like 5 seconds and skip to the songs I knew. That was a bad idea.

So It Ends

So I just finished a pretty important season in my life. For the last year, I was the worship leader at quest community church Frankfort campus. It was a hard and super fruitful year that I will always cherish. I learned so much about myself and grew immensely. I watched a campus before my eyes grow in what it means to worship Jesus. I got to be a part of something really special.

So in the wake of my last official weekend out there, I have some thank yous to put out there.

feature-300x168

So I’m a dad! It’s pretty crazy. I have a little girl that I get to take care of. It’s been a pretty surreal couple days. That’s what this blog is about.

But first things first! LOOK HOW FREAKING CUTE!!!!!
